The strike was also the 56th Premier League goal that the Red Devils leaked this season and are now just a goal away from breaching the club record for most goals conceded in a single campaign. Out of the 82 goals that were scored against the team this season across all competitions, Andre Onana leaked 80 of them while Altay Bayindir conceded twice in the only match he played this season in the FA Cup.
While the Belgian attacker's goal forced the Manchester-based club to script an unwanted record, it allowed his side to register the most number of goals in a single Premier League season, surpassing their previous best tally of 88 goals in the 2022/23 campaign.
Mikel Arteta's side held on to their lead until the end of the game to secure the crucial three points and reclaim the top position from Manchester City.
